How to unlock Ranked
Deadlock has two queues: Standard, with no limits on party size or skill spread, and Ranked. To queue for Ranked you need 60 wins in Standard. In Ranked you can only pick heroes you've won at least 15 Standard games with, and you need 3 such heroes to fill a roster.
Calibration and parties
- Each season starts with 8 calibration games and a soft reset of your previous rank. You can't play them in a party.
- Players who haven't calibrated yet show as Obscurus. The highest rank you can leave calibration with is Oracle VI.
- Ranked takes solo players and duos. Duo partners can be at most one rank apart; Eternus players can only duo with another Eternus within three subranks.
All Deadlock ranks
From lowest to highest: Initiate, Seeker, Acolyte, Sentinel, Mystic, Ritualist, Emissary, Oracle, Phantom, Ascendant, Eternus. The most common rank this season is Seeker, with 19.1% of ranked players.
Rank points and loss protection
Valve said a win or loss moves you about 250 points on average; the exact amount depends on what the matchmaker expected from the match and on win streaks. Each subrank takes 1000 points, and the last subrank of a rank takes 2000. From Eternus I there are no fixed thresholds: Valve recalculates them daily by percentile.
Loss protection: at 0 points on a new rank you keep the badge for 5 losses, and on a new subrank for 2.
Seasons
The current season is Beta Season 1. It ends on November 5, 2026; Valve moved the end date in its 6 October announcement. Your highest rank of the season stays in your rank history, and the Ranked Hub in the hideout has the global leaderboards.
Ranks and the tier list
The PRO column in the Deadlock tier list counts only matches where the average rank of both teams is Oracle I or higher. This season 12.5% of ranked players are at Oracle or above.
